Theme. Seating. Budgeting

What is
HO.RE.CA

Do you know what is HO.RE.CA? It is an abbreviation of hotel, restaurant and café, which commonly refer to food service industry.

The 3 things to take note for furniture of this industry would be theme, seating and budget.

Lets talk into detail of these.

      THEME

In this photo, it is a recent project we done for Kempinski hotel and they are selling German food, which emphasize on quality and delicacy, the interior color tone would be darker and heavier.
        CHINESE RESTAURANT
Round table dinner for Chinese restaurant, which means togetherness and harmony. The largest table that we quoted was to accommodate 30pax.

          JAPANESE RESTAURANT

Japanese food famous for their exquisite serving, so their restaurant would pay more attention to personal enjoyment to the foods so that they have more individual seating.

Different theme actually affecting the furniture design dramatically.

          SEATING

When talking about seating, we are actually considering the capacity of the restaurant and the turn table rate

          Seating Arrangement

When you are serving food with more than RM40 per pax, you might want them to feel comfortable with looser seating arrangement. But when you serving fast moving and take away food business, you might want to save more space by let your client sit closer with each other.

Imagine you drinking RM20 coffee in a fast food restaurant, would you think you have overpaid?

          Choose Suitable Seatings

The food that you serve is also important factor to decide the furniture size. We always spend time to discuss with clients about what are the food they gonna serve so we know the actual furniture size they need.

There was a case study where a client sell Korean fried chicken and some other dishes insist of using 2ft x 2ft table for each seat, eventually they changed all table as the table can only put 1 set of fried chicken and client cannot order their favourite bingsu, budae jjigae and anything else.

When selecting the chairs, you might want to consider how long you would let your client stay – stool will make them leave after finish eating, while comfortable armchair might let them stay longer for chit chat and enjoy.

          BUDGETING

In doing business, budgeting is very important for calculating your ROI.

These are the HORECA business that we usually deal with – kopitiam, café, restaurant and QSR. Budget of each type of biz is different and we will help client to better understand what are the furniture fit into their budget of the business. Normally each seat is from RM300 and up to RM3000.
